Wednesday, March 28, 2018--DOW STEM Day
Volunteers from DOW met us at the Community House. We learned how to make paper airplanes along with how to protect an egg when it was dropped. We used science and math to complete each task. The kids had a blast!

Wednesday, March 28, 2018--Pajama Day
We celebrated March is Reading Month by having pajama day. We also read to our furry friends for a little bit today.

The fourth graders worked on their Midwest Project in class. They had to come up with a who, a what, a where, a when, and a why question about their state. The questions were very interesting.

The students completed their name projects where they had to research their name and then create a poster using the meaning of their name and share some pictures that represent them.

Monday, March 26, 2018--Multiplication Egg Hunt
The fourth graders went on a multiplication egg hunt. They had to find the matches to the multiplication facts on one side of the egg. Then, they were given the product and had to find a fact to go with the product.

Thursday, March 15, 2018--Mass
The fourth graders presented mass and discussed the colors of faith. Each color represents something different and unique about our faith. We shared beads with the rest of the school as reminders that God always loves us.

Monday, March 12, 2018--Southeast Region Float Project
The students worked hard to complete their Southeast Region Float. They had to find various facts about their state and present the information in a float. They were encouraged to use 3-D objects on their floats and be creative with their design. The floats turned out amazing!

Wednesday, February 14, 2018--Jump Rope for Heart
After Ash Wednesday mass, we went to the high school gym to participate in Jump Rope for Heart. There were several stations set up for students to practice their jumping skills. After we went through all of the stations, there was a jump off where the students had to jump rope for as long as possible.

Tuesday, February 13, 2018--Fat Tuesday Carnival
The 8th graders organized their annual Fat Tuesday Carnival. The day started off with the Talent Show in which several fourth graders participated in. In the afternoon, we went to the carnival and enjoyed lot of treats, Jail and Bail, and several fun games. We ended the day with the Pie in the Face and the announcement of the Penny Wars winner and the Talent Show winners. We also celebrated our 100th Day of School and Valentine's Day.

Friday, February 9, 2018--Northeast Region iState Project
For the Northeast Region, the students had to come up with 9 apps that would represent their state. The apps ranged from sports teams, to birds, flowers, landmarks, and fun facts about the state.

Tuesday, February 6, 2018--If I Lived in a Snowglobe
One of the writing assignments for January was to imagine what life would be like in a snowglobe. The students had a fun time with this project and were very creative as to how their life would be like if they lived in a snowglobe.

Monday, January 29-Friday, February 2--Catholic Schools Week
We celebrated Catholic Schools Week all week long. On Monday, we had pajama day. We also played Cereal BINGO and some of the students won neat Catholic Schools Week scarves. On Tuesday, the fourth graders dressed up as various jobs. We also wrote down one think we liked about our Catholic School. We were treated to a special snack from our secret class (1st grade) and surprised the second graders with prayer journals. We had Wacky Wednesday and participated in a game of Speak Out where the teachers were the clue givers. On Thursday, we celebrated mass and enjoyed breakfast treats after mass with our family members. Friday was the traditional Blue and White Day. We delivered care packages to local businesses and ended our week with a fun game of Jeopardy at the Community House.

Monday, January 15, 2018--Martin Luther King Jr. Day
The students worked together to create this masterpiece to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Each student was responsible for coloring a certain area a certain color. We then used coordinated to assemble the puzzle to reveal the picture.

Friday, December 22, 2017--Christmas Party
The students had a wonderful time at their Christmas Party. They decorated sugar cookies, exchanged gifts, and drew a snowman scene on a plate on the top of their heads. It was a great way to kick off Christmas break!

This was the first year each of the kids had their own lines. They did very well with their lines and did a great job portraying their characters.

The fourth and fifth graders spent the morning caroling at the Long Term Care. They made Christmas trees to give the residents. They were happy to see us.

Wednesday, December 13, 2017--Constellation Project
Each of the fourth graders created their own constellation and then shared them with the class. They had to create their own story and draw their constellation in the night time sky. Many of the constellations had lessons that went with them.

The students played Musical Chairs one day in math class. Whoever did not have a seat when the music quit, got to challenge someone to a math problem.

For their November Book Report, the students had to read a chapter book and then complete a turkey outlining various elements of the story. They turned out really cute!

The fourth graders have been working really hard on their math facts. We have been using several multiplication games to help remember our facts.

Thursday, November 16--Mass
The second, third, and fourth graders presented mass on Thursday, November 16. They discussed the gift of Wisdom and explained many words that described Wisdom and how they relate to our Catholic faith.

The students spent several days researching a planet with a partner. They learned about the rotation, revolution, and distance from the Sun. They also discovered the meaning of each planet's name.

Wednesday, November 1 and Friday, November 3, 2017--Saint Day Activities
The students enjoyed an extra recess, Saint BINGO and cake to celebrate All Saints Day. On Friday, the students rotated between Miss Maurer (Saint Anthony), Mrs. Hallock (Saint Isidore), and Mrs. LaPine (Saint Clare of Assisi) to learn about various saints.

The students had a great time dressing up for Halloween. We went to the Long Term Care, painted pumpkins, and went on a scavenger hunt.

Friday, September 29, 2017--Craters on the Moon
The fourth graders learned how the moon got to be covered in craters. We used a cake pan filled with flour to create our own craters to represent the surface of the moon.

Thursday, September 28, 2017--4th Grade Mass
The fourth graders did a very nice job presenting their first mass of the school year. The students shared with everyone that it is important we put the more important things in our life first (God, family, friends, etc.) and put little things last (TV, video games, etc.)

Monday, September 18-Tuesday, September 19--Hartley Outdoor Education Center
The students (and teachers) had a great time at Hartley Outdoor Education Center. We went on a nature hike, conquered a confidence course, learned about Native Americans, participated in relay races, and made many memories. The staff was very impressed by the behavior of the students and are looking forward to having them back again.

The students were so kind to let Mrs. Hallock take a picture of them on the first day of school so that we could use the pictures for various activities throughout the year.
